One of the most curious subjects for smartphones for years is the charging capacity of the battery. Recently, lithium-ion batteries are generally preferred in mobile devices, and therefore it is said that the device should not be charged to 100 percent. Apple’s guide post revealed important information about iPhone batteries.

Charging iPhone battery to 100 percent can be harmful

Apple uses lithium-ion batteries in iPhones. Although it is quite innovative in terms of performance and lifetime, it should not be ignored that the lithium-ion wears out slightly with each charge. Therefore, you should check the battery health of the iPhone. For this, you need to go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health.

It is possible to increase battery life thanks to the Improved Battery Charge feature offered by Apple since iOS 13. This feature, which slows down the aging rate of the iPhone battery and stops charging after reaching 80 percent, also measures your daily charging routine.

The technology giant states that charging the battery up to 80 percent will be effective in prolonging its life. But if you want it to be fully charged with Optimized Battery Charge, you can select “Charge Now” from the notification on the lock screen.

In addition to the software advantages, Apple also made some suggestions about temperature. Stating that extremely hot or cold weather can shorten iPhone battery life, Apple says that the ideal performance will be between 16°C and 22°C.

You can also activate Low Power Mode for longer battery life. This feature, which automatically reduces the screen brightness and closes the applications running in the background, makes the iPhone work longer.
