Today, the number of children who come to the fore with their intelligence is quite high. While some of them become famous with a small word and start to be talked about, others come to the fore with their success.

Kim Ung-Yong, on the other hand, claims that real success is happiness by adopting a quiet life despite his achievements at a young age and admiring even NASA.

At just one year old, Yong mastered both the Korean alphabet and over a thousand Chinese characters.

Kim Ung-Yong was born on March 8, 1962, in Seoul, South Korea, to a physics professor father and a mother who taught at Seoul National University.

By the age of three, he was solving calculus problems. He also, with the help of his family, published a 247-page book of essays, calligraphy (a decorative craft), and illustration in both English and German.

By the age of five, he was fluent in Korean, Japanese, English, German, and French, and even attended a physics class at Hanyang University.

At the age of four, Yong was named the person with the highest IQ in the world by the Guinness Book of Records, scoring 210 on an IQ test designed for seven-year-olds.

At the age of five, Yong solved complex differential and integral calculus problems on Fuji TV in Japan. Thus she achieved international fame.

Yong, who gained fame with his appearance on television in Japan, was noticed by NASA and was offered a job.

Realizing that this was a huge opportunity for him, he accepted the offer and worked for NASA for nearly ten years. In the process, he constantly amazed his colleagues with his extraordinary memory and ability to solve complex mathematical problems.

During his time at NASA, Yong felt lonely because the other employees were older than him.

It also upset Yong that other employees were inspired by his ideas but no one appreciated him.

Unable to be happy at NASA, Yong decided to return to South Korea and finish school in 1978.

He completed all his required studies and earned his high school equivalency degree in just two years. Later, he enrolled in a university to study civil engineering. After completing his doctorate, he started working as a middle manager in a Korean company.

Yong worked as an adjunct faculty at Chungbuk National University in 2007. In 2014, he finally fulfilled his dream of becoming a professor. Thus, after leaving the company, he joined the staff of Shinhan University as a professor at the age of 51.

Yong; Although he was happy with his life saying “I will dedicate myself to teaching the next generation”, society has come to see him as a “failed genius” because he stopped working at NASA.

Kim Ung-Yong said, “I try to tell people that I am happy the way I am.” He says that the real success is a happy and peaceful life.

He is now 61 years old.
