In the latest analysis by SellCell, the company examined the depreciation data that has emerged since the launches of the Samsung Galaxy S23, Apple iPhone 14 and Google Pixel 7 models.
While consumers want to know which new phone has the best camera, battery or processor, they will eventually plan to sell their old smartphones for a new model. But when the time comes, which smartphone will have the best value? Which phone lost value, which phone gained value?
As in previous reports, the iPhone 14 is the phone that retains the most value, while Samsung’s S23 series has an average of 40 percent lower resale prices. Google Pixel 7 models are also 48 percent weaker than iPhone 14 prices. However, the latest iPhone model is worth 5.7 percent less than the iPhone 13 after 6 months. While the 14 series has lost 31.5 percent in value, the 13 series has lost 25.8 percent in the same time period.
The worst phone to sell for Galaxy S23 owners is the 1TB Galaxy S23 Ultra. It has lost 55.6 percent of its value in the 2 months since its launch. On the other hand, the best model that retains its value is the Galaxy S23 256GB Plus model. It has regained some of its lost value after launch and is worth 36.4 percent less than 2 months after launch.
