NFTs (non-fungible tokens), which are created by processing unique assets on the internet into the blockchain, are becoming more and more popular with each passing day. Although these assets face some negativities, they receive investments from giant companies in automobiles, games, music and many other sectors.
Facebook, which changed its name to Meta for the metaverse in October of last year, is also one of those who make moves on such issues. The popular social media platform Instagram, which belongs to the giant company, announced the future of NFTs a few months ago. Now, the news has shown that this can happen in the near future.
Instagram may launch NFT integration in the coming days
According to CoinDesk, NFTs may start coming to Instagram with an announcement scheduled for Monday. In the news, it was reported that the giant company plans to bring these digital assets to the platform with Ethereum, Polygon, Solana and Flow integrations. It was noted that NFT integration, which is stated to start with a pilot application, will be tried with a group of people in the USA first, but it is not known whether it will include all of the specified networks.
In addition, it was stated that Instagram will support common crypto wallets such as MetaMask. It was stated that users can prove that they have NFTs through these wallets, exhibit these assets and tag artists. In addition, CoinDesk stated that the platform will not charge any fees for sharing NFTs. In addition to this, it was stated in the previous news that Meta had plans regarding Facebook as well as Instagram.
Social media platforms are also increasing their moves on NFTs, which are becoming more and more common. In addition to Instagram, another popular social media Twitter has taken the name of NFT in recent months. The giant platform allowed NFTs to be profile photos with a feature.
