According to Statcounter’s April 2023 report, Microsoft Edge has lost its position as the world’s second most popular desktop browser. Impressively, Apple Safari, the only desktop browser that doesn’t offer cross-platform support, has taken second place to Microsoft’s Chromium-powered Edge browser.
Statcounter says that Safari reached 11.87% market share, up 0.95 points compared to the previous month, and took the second place. Edge is now in third place and has been trying to beat the 11% mark for almost a year. Microsoft Edge lost 0.15 points in April 2023, while Chrome rose 0.36 points to 66.13%.
Here is the list of the most popular desktop browsers, according to Statcounter’s latest findings:

On the mobile side, there are no major changes. Chrome and Safari continue to hold almost 90% of all users, with slightly less than 5% using Samsung, 2% using Opera, and the rest using other browsers:
