READING NOW Where is the “furthest place” in the world? Where you will be furthest away from other people, namely Point Nemo…

The usual situations of modern life, such as ringing phones, bills to be paid, children shouting, can sometimes make you want to drop everything and relax a little. Even just a weekend getaway or vacation may not be enough, and you may want to get as far away from people as possible.

RealLifeLore has put together a video travel guide for the perfect spot to try if you have such a desire. This video introduces the volcanic Tristan Da Cunha islands in the South Atlantic Ocean, 2,700 kilometers from South Africa. These islands are known as the furthest point in the world where people live, even though there are only 264 people. In other words, the people living here are known as those who live farthest from the people closest to them. However, these islands do not have an airport.

Not enough? Try Point Nemo!

If what you’re looking for is no people around, you might consider going to Point Nemo this time. “Nemo”, meaning “nobody” in Latin, also refers to Jules Verne’s character, Captain Nemo. A person at point Nemo would be 2,689 kilometers from the closest human on Earth. In other words, Point Nemo is a point in the Pacific Ocean and is the farthest place on Earth from humans.

The worst part is that there is no land at this point. You will probably have to sit on a ship in the vast sea. This point is so far away that when you’re there, the people closest to you will likely be the astronauts aboard the International Space Station, if they’re passing over you at the time.

Point Nemo (Point Nemo) is exactly here…

Even shipping routes do not pass from this point, and in fact, the fastest time anyone can reach this point is known as 15 days, 10 hours and 37 minutes.
