In the past few weeks, many Galaxy smartphone users have woken up, apparently overnight, to a new Samsung app that seems to have been installed on their phones. It’s called DECO PIC and you’ve probably seen the app. At first glance, it looks like it was suddenly downloaded and installed without the user’s consent, but in reality this is not the case.
No need to be afraid; Your Samsung phone didn’t go and install a new app without asking you. This app icon is actually nothing more than a shortcut to an app already on the phone. This app used to be inside Samsung’s built-in camera app until now.
It is also possible to access the DECO PIC application from the AR Zone section of the camera application. However, it may have escaped your notice as it is hidden in a few menus. There is no such problem anymore, because it has become accessible with a single tap. From now on, users can use the DECO PIC icon to open their cameras in augmented reality (AR) mode.
