The US Department of Defense has released a new document describing “Earth’s UFO hotspots” in the name of transparency. The document also includes a map describing where most unidentified objects were seen, based on reports from 1996-2023.

The map came to light shortly after a Pentagon chief admitted that hundreds of mysterious objects had been seen “around the world”. Director of the Pentagon’s Office of All-domain Anomaly Resolution (AARO), Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick said: “We see them all over the world and we know they make some very interesting maneuvers.”

The map explains where the most observations were recorded, based on reports from 1996 to 2023. The coasts of Japan and the US are noted as particularly hot spots. According to the map, UFO sightings are concentrated in Nagasaki and Hiroshima in Japan, the east and west coasts of the USA, including California, and parts of the Middle East.

The map specifically describes an area in southwestern Japan that included the cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, which were the target of US nuclear attacks in 1945. Another of the hotspots in Japan is the small community of Iinomachi in Fukushima Prefecture, referred to as “UFO Town”.

Iinomachi is a place adorned with extraterrestrial-themed decorations to attract fans and promote itself as an “alien home.” It’s also the base of a research institute called the International UFO Laboratory, which opened in 2021 and is led by alien enthusiast Takeharu Mikami.

What is All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO)?

The map and other data are contained in a document published by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO). AARO was established in July 2022 under the US Department of Defense. It is specifically tasked with investigating unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and other unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP).
