Although it has not been officially announced yet, news from the Take-Two front indicates that Grand Theft Auto 6 may be released in 2024. Take-Two had recently acquired Zynga. With the effect of this, it was announced that the company’s annual growth rate is expected to be 14% in 2024.
Analysts at the New York firm Jeffries believe it won’t just happen with the Zynga acquisition, but is indicative of a big Rockstar game to be released that year: “There are only a handful of games that can give the company such growth.”
Cowen’s Doug Creutz also believes a GTA 6 release is “likely” during the fiscal year (April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024). Because he says he’s confident that this kind of growth requires a big game.
The release of Grand Theft Auto 6 has been the subject of rumors and speculation for years. While analysts’ estimates cannot be taken as official announcements, the numbers tell us all we need to.
Take-Two has previously used increased revenue expectations to herald big Rockstar titles. For example, there was a similar situation in 2011, and then, just 2 years later, Grand Theft Auto 5 came.
