The research conducted by Insights reveals that the majority of consumers who cannot use their services with Facebook decide to spend their time watching adult content.
The number of instant users of Pornhub exploded
According to Insights’ research, in parallel with the collapse of Facebook, the number of instant Pornhub users began to rise. As the hours passed, users became more and more attracted to Pornhub. It was determined that the number of users, which increased by 10.5 percent in the first moments, reached 11 percent and then 19 percent within hours. These statistics mean that Pornhub gained at least 500k users every hour during the outages.
There is another point that draws attention within the scope of the research. So much so that users also changed popular search terms on Pornhub, where they showed more interest during the blackout. So much so that Facebook searches on Porbhub increased by 221%, while Instagram searches increased by 323%.
