WhatsApp has also offered its desktop version to its users a while ago. The platform aims to increase the user experience by adding frequent innovations and improving its already existing features. But some basic features are still not available in the desktop version. According to the blog post shared by WABetaInfo yesterday, the instant communication platform is working to improve one of these basic and missing features. So what is this innovation and what will it do? Let’s take a look at the details of the news together.
WhatsApp is working on multiple Select Chat features
WABetaInfo announced from its blog post yesterday that WhatsApp is working on multiple Select Chat features. This feature has actually been available within the platform for a long time. But it is only used for certain options on mobile.
Thanks to the new multi-chat selection feature of WhatsApp, users will be able to mute chats in a short time and without hassle one by one and mark them as read / unread. Select chat is currently done on WhatsApp for mobile with the edit button on the left for iOS and right for Android. But thanks to this edit button, only messages are archived or deleted.
As in the image above, the new feature will be located in the upper left corner of the screen. The Select Chat feature for WhatsApp is being tested simultaneously for Windows and macOS. It is not yet known when it will come to the stable version.
On the other hand, WhatsApp is also working on the Report feature for status updates and messages to provide a safer user experience. Once this feature starts working, complaints will be forwarded to the moderation team and then to WhatsApp.
