Popular messaging app WhatsApp continues to get new features for groups. WhatsApp, which has recently given some special rights to group administrators, will now allow administrators to determine who can join the group.
Will require admin permission to join group on WhatsApp
The new features seen in WhatsApp beta 2.22.18.8 for Android seem to confuse chats. As you can see from the screenshot below, it will be necessary to get approval from the admins to join a group. The platform will offer admins a new option called “Confirm new participants”.
According to the screenshot revealed by WABetaInfo, it is possible to disable the ability to join groups with administrator approval. So, just like today, any user with a WhatsApp group invitation will be able to join the group. The new feature is available to those who want to make groups more private.
It is not yet known how the new update that addresses groups will work. If the feature is activated, we guess that a list of people who want to join the group will be created and the administrators will add the people they want to the group. We also think that administrators will receive notifications from those who want to join the group.
Thanks to an innovation that has appeared before, group administrators will have the right to delete a message sent by another participant. The screen shot of the feature in beta stage shows the warning “As an administrator, you have deleted this message”.
Let us remind you that this feature is still in the testing phase. So we don’t know when it will be released. It is possible to say that the feature tested in WhatsApp beta 2.22.18.8 for Android will be released with other updates.
