WhatsApp online hiding feature is being tested

WhatsApp online hiding feature, also known as ghost mode, is currently open to some people among beta testers. It was stated that privacy options related to online status were released in WhatsApp beta 2.22.20.9. The status hiding feature sought by those who want to hide their online presence on WhatsApp has been developed on iOS and Android since July.

How to hide WhatsApp status?

  1. Enter WhatsApp settings.
  2. Go to the Account – Privacy menu.
  3. You will see options under Last seen and online.
  4. Set the last seen to “Nobody”.
  5. Select the “Same as last seen” option.

These are the steps to follow for those who want to appear offline on WhatsApp. Users can also choose to appear completely offline or only appear online to some people when they log into WhatsApp. There are also four options for who can see your last seen status (everyone, my contacts, some people, and nobody). The person who hides his last seen and online status cannot see the last seen and online status of his Whatsapp contacts.

Testing with a limited number of users

There are many users waiting for the ghost mode to stay offline all the time on WhatsApp. Currently, this privacy feature is being rolled out even to beta users. So even if you have 2.22.20.9 or 2.22.20.7 installed, you may not see online status and hide last seen options.
