It seems that there will be no need for WhatsApp deleted messages recovery programs very soon. The popular messaging service is working on a new feature that will allow users to retrieve deleted messages.

Expected announcement from WhatsApp: Message deletion time is extended

1 week previously added

The WABetaInfo team, which experienced the new WhatsApp features before anyone else, revealed the feature in version 2.22.18.13 of the WhatsApp Android application. The feature, which will allow users to undelete messages that they accidentally deleted, is currently being tested by a small number of users. More users are scheduled to be included in the beta program next week.

recover deleted whatsapp messages

  1. Touch and hold the message, then press Delete.
  2. Tap “Delete for Everyone” by tapping the icon at the bottom.
  3. Tap Undo next to the “Message deleted” notification.

First of all, it should be noted that it will not be possible to restore old messages (for example, messages from 1 year ago) on WhatsApp. After users delete the message from themselves, a scrolling snackbar notification will appear at the bottom confirming the deletion. An “Undo” button will appear, which will help restore the deleted message. However, this notification will appear for a few seconds. The user will have very short time to delete the message from both parties.

WhatsApp finally brings the feature that will allow you to retrieve accidentally deleted messages. If you’ve already installed the latest beta of WhatsApp and don’t see the feature, you’re not yet among the few testers.
