A new beta version has been released for the desktop version of WhatsApp, the world’s most popular instant messaging application. This beta version with the code “2.2319.4.0” revealed that a new feature is being worked on for the application. This new feature will slightly improve the user experience.
If you exit the chat screen while texting a contact on WhatsApp, the text you have written will not be lost. However, you will not see a warning that you did not send the message you wrote. Here is the new feature seen in the WhatsApp desktop beta version with the code 2.2319.4.0, which shows that this situation will change soon. WhatsApp will now start showing notifications for an interrupted message, just like Telegram.
This is how the new feature in WhatsApp will look like:
Let’s say that while talking to a friend, your message was interrupted. Later, when you enter WhatsApp or see the menu with all chats, you will see a “Draft” notification about that message. The user who sees this notification will understand that he wrote a message to that person but has not sent it yet. In this way, situations such as “I forgot to send” will be left behind.
The new feature, which appeared in the desktop beta version of WhatsApp, has not yet appeared in the iOS and Android ecosystem. However, we believe that this situation will change in the near future. Still, it is useful to follow the explanations from WhatsApp.
