WhatsApp is working on masking phone numbers within the announcement group. As you can see in the screenshot above, you are told to update your WhatsApp version to react to messages within the announcement group. Once the ability to react to messages within the community’s announcement group is available, your reaction will not reveal your phone number, thus protecting privacy.Unfortunately, this feature is not yet available. The ability to react to messages within the announcement group will be released in a future update of the WhatsApp beta for Android.
