WhatsApp plays a big role in making online messaging and group chats as convenient as possible. At the same time, communication needs are also evolving. Telegram, on the other hand, has not caught the popularity of WhatsApp, although it has had the Channels feature for a long time. Because WhatsApp has started to work on adding the Channels feature to its structure this time.

Appears in beta version available on Play Store

WABetaInfo, after a series of reports showing that this feature is in development, has discovered a new prompt that informs users about Channels and is gearing up for the feature’s rollout. The prompt appears in the 2.23.10.14 beta version of the messaging app available on the Play Store.

WhatsApp states that there is no predetermined limit on the number of members a channel can have. The prompt is also intended to use this feature to share news, events, and other information with a wide audience. Members of the channel will not see the sender’s phone number, thus ensuring that the sender’s privacy is not compromised. Interestingly, WhatsApp’s popup does not specify whether communication in Channels will be encrypted end-to-end.

Channels are perfect for businesses that aim to communicate with customers, or government and private organizations that want to broadcast information to interested parties. We look forward to the official launch of Channels in the stable version of WhatsApp.
