WhatsApp has introduced its new account verification method. Users can now authenticate using email verification instead of SMS. This feature has been available in the WhatsApp beta version for a while; Now everyone can use it.WhatsApp account verification via email works as an alternative when users are somewhere without cellular coverage and need to log in to their WhatsApp account. Users need to follow Profile – Account – Email Address to add an email address to their account. It has been announced that only the account owner can see the added e-mail address and it will not be visible to other users.
SMS will not replace verification
By the way, the email address is used only for account verification. So, to use WhatsApp, you still need to have a valid phone number. On the other hand, WhatsApp is working on a feature that allows users to use a username instead of a phone number.
