Popular messaging platform Whatsapp continues to add new features to the application that will increase the user experience. The chat giant, which facilitated the transition from iOS platform to Android for certain Samsung devices last year, will now offer the same opportunity to users who switch from Android to iOS.
Cross-platform switching is now easier
Although it is possible to transfer chat history between ecosystems with some third-party tools today, most of these tools are offered to users for a fee. In addition, WhatsApp, working in partnership with Apple, will enable users who switch from Android to iOS to quickly transfer their account information, profile photo, individual and group chats, chat history, chat environment and WhatsApp settings.

The new feature, which was put into use as of July 21, will be accessible via the ‘Move to iOS’ tool added to the Google Play Store. According to Whatsapp’s instructions, the new feature requires both the sending and receiving devices to have the latest version of WhatsApp installed, the same phone number to be used, as well as a factory reset or new iOS device to which the data is transferred.
