WhatsApp, the messaging application used by billions of people around the world, had another important feature with the previous beta version. WhatsApp introduced the ‘Communities’ tab, where many groups can be gathered under one roof. With the new tab, users would be able to join a community and different groups in that community.
According to the shared details, users were able to enter a community via a shared invite link or manually by the group’s administrator. With the Beta version 2.22.19.3, released for Android users today, the opportunity to create a community was also offered to users.
So what will the ‘Communities’ feature provide?
With the new feature where groups of different topics can be hosted in a single Community, groups will be controllable from one place. However, admins will be able to send messages to each group in one place. Up to 10 groups can be added to each community, and each of these subgroups will contain up to 512 members.
Users who are members of the community will not have to enter each group. Users can choose which groups to be in and can join other groups whenever they want. Users who think the community is against it will be able to submit a complaint to WhatsApp about the community.
WhatsApp continues to develop a feature in its Community feature that will also allow members to hide their phone numbers. It is unknown when this feature will be released. It is not yet known when the Communities feature will be released in full version.
