WhatsApp’s latest beta update for iOS gives users the ability to add and switch between multiple accounts on a single device, WABetaInfo reports. It looks like the feature is finally coming to iOS, more than a year after its launch on Android.
According to WABetaInfo, users will encounter a new option when adding a second account to the application with version 25.2.10.70 for iOS. This option will allow you to choose between setting the new account as a standalone primary account or “you can scan a QR code to link the new account as an additional account.” The update is currently available to beta testers through Apple’s TestFlight program.
To use WhatsApp’s ability to run two accounts simultaneously on Android, you need to have a device that can use dual SIM. According to this system, each account must have its own phone number. WhatsApp also offers another app, WhatsApp Business, where users can set up a second account using a different phone number, but you still have to switch between two different apps to use two accounts this way.
