Constantly introducing new features, WhatsApp has recently announced blocking screenshots and many new features. Today, it has been revealed that the “photo blurring” feature, which has been available on Android and iOS for a while, will also be available to Windows and MacOS users.

The “photo blur” feature, which was introduced to Android and iOS users in the past months, allowed you to censor all or only a certain part of the photos you sent while messaging. According to the news of WaBetaInfo, this feature will be available to WhatsApp Desktop users very soon.

Already being tested in Beta

It turned out that this feature, known as the “Blur Tool”, was offered to Windows and MacOS users with the 2.2241.2 Beta version of WhatsApp. The feature is not currently available to all beta users, but users who tested the feature stated that the feature works smoothly just like on mobile devices and there is no problem that prevents the beta application from being used in general.

Just like on mobile devices, before sending a photo on a computer, you select the blur feature, then choose one of the mosaic and normal blur options and mark the area you want to blur. It was also explained by WhatsApp that the “censored” photo you sent could not be censored later, and that this method was a good way to censor important data.

The feature, which is currently only available to some beta users, will be available to all beta users and then to all users worldwide in the coming days.
