Popular messaging platform WhatsApp continues to work on new features for its users. The application appeared in front of the user last year with a feature called “accompaniment mode”. This feature gives you the chance to link the existing WhatsApp account to another phone. According to today’s news, WhatsApp brings the companion mode feature to Android beta users.
It will be possible to view WhatsApp on two different devices
WhatsApp introduced its “companion mode” last year, which allows users to connect a second phone to their account. According to the information revealed today, the feature is available for all Android beta testers with WhatsApp 2.23.8.2 or later.
The companion mode offered by the platform is an extension of multi-device support. Thus, it allows users to link their WhatsApp account to another phone for easy chat access. The feature in question works even if your main device does not have an active internet connection.
As of now, companion mode is available for Android beta users. Allows you to connect a secondary Android device. To try the feature, users need to download beta versions of WhatsApp Messenger or Business app on their secondary Android phone.
Following this step, they can select “Connect a device” in the app while running the app on the primary phone. You can however go to Settings and enter Connected Devices. After scanning a QR code from the secondary phone’s screen, you will be able to connect the two devices.
Thanks to the new feature, you can now seamlessly access your chat history on both devices. It should also be noted that the feature in question is still in beta. This shows that some aspects of the feature are still unavailable. There is no information about when the companion mode feature will be available to iOS beta testers.
