WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging software on iOS as well as Android, is a platform where we sometimes spend hours a day. WhatsApp, which has been a favorite of users for years with its end-to-end encryption and simple interface, is still popular, although it has been unreliable in terms of privacy since last year. Millions of iOS users will soon encounter a slightly different interface when they open WhatsApp. The new image is here.
WhatsApp iOS app will undergo minor changes
It appeared on WABetaInfo, which previously reported on the features to come to WhatsApp, that a small portion of beta users have changes to the WhatsApp homepage. It is known that the feature, which even all beta users cannot try yet, is under development. With the update, the ‘New Group’ and ‘Mass Message’ options are removed from the main page of WhatsApp on iOS.
On the left side of the image above, you can see the current version of the main page, and on the right side, you can see the version that will be in the next update. At the bottom, you can view the menu design that will be used with the next update. While it’s unclear when this minor user experience change will come to WhatsApp, the process may take several weeks. Because this change has not yet reached beta users.
Another feature that is reported to be coming in future updates is related to chat notifications. With the update, when you receive a message from WhatsApp soon, the profile photo of the person who sent the message will appear in the notification. In addition, if the message you receive is from a group and you are mentioned directly (like “@Emre”), WhatsApp will notify you.
If you don’t know about the mention feature in WhatsApp, try making the ‘@’ sign with your keyboard in a group with multiple people. By mentioning the people in the group, you will both prevent confusion and ensure that that person receives notifications even if they mute the group.
