A new feature that is still under development for WhatsApp, the world’s most popular instant messaging application, has come to light. This feature, which appeared in WhatsApp’s Android beta version code 2.23.20.6, will be the newest service that the application “stole” from Telegram. So, which feature did WhatsApp roll up its sleeves to copy this time?
WhatsApp’s Channels feature, which is among the features copied from Telegram, was launched recently. After joining a channel, users can react to the messages shared there with emojis. Android beta version code 2.23.20.6 reveals that users can also participate in the Channels feature via message. If the channel administrator allows, a message can be left under a shared post. Yes, the same experience will be provided as in Telegram.
This is what WhatsApp’s new feature will look like:
When WhatsApp’s new feature becomes available, a new section called “replies” will open for users. By touching this, the user will be able to view the messages written under a post in the channel. Nothing is certain, but we think that this section will be used not only for reading the submitted responses but also for writing responses. It looks like some users will appreciate the responsiveness feature that will be added to the Channels feature.
Meta did not make any statement regarding the reply feature developed for WhatsApp’s Channels. So we don’t know when this feature will be available. However, let us remind you once again that the feature is under development. The ability to reply to messages in the channel will probably reach all users within a few months.
