WhatsApp, which has recently accelerated its updates on user experience, is now active on the tablet side. The split tablet screen, which has been in beta for a while, has gained a new feature.

In the Android tablet version of WhatsApp, just like on smartphones, when a chat was selected, it would completely turn off the screen. For those chatting with multiple friends, this meant constantly returning to the home screen.

With the feature called Side by Side, WhatsApp Android tablets were offered as a beta for split screen use last month. Normally, this feature came by default, but in the new beta version this month, an option has been added to the Settings section to turn the feature off.

You can turn the Side by Side feature off by going to the Settings-Chats menu. This again allows the chat window to completely close the screen as before. This feature was made available in the beta version of WhatsApp 2.23.9.20.
