Popular messaging app WhatsApp continues to test new features. According to a recent report, the company is testing a new feature in the beta version of the app for Android. Thanks to this feature, a small change will be made in the design.

The design of the application bar will change in the Android version of WhatsApp

Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta update 2.23.13.17 for Android available on the Google Play Store, it turns out that WhatsApp is also planning to introduce changes for the top app bar while using the dark theme.

As can be seen from the screenshot above, the top application bar is darker compared to what we usually see when we open WhatsApp. For more advanced mobile phones with AMOLED display, a darker theme using grayscale and black color can provide great results in terms of performance as well as being more aesthetically pleasing.

It seems that with this change, WhatsApp hopes to further align its app with the Material Design 3 style. Finally, it is worth remembering that this new feature is still in the testing phase.
