What is House Of The Dragon About?
The House of the Dragon series is about 200 years before the Game of Thrones series and tells the Targaryen civil war (Dance of the Dragons). Based on George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series, House of the Dragon will focus on the Targaryen family.
The Dance of the Dragons, which started with the Targaryans’ struggles to protect the Iron Throne and their war among themselves, is one of the events covered in the book.
When Will House Of The Dragon Be Released?
HBO had stated during a launch event for HBO Max in Europe that the show would launch in 2022. In addition, HBO ordered the series for 10 episodes.
Speaking about the series in an interview with Variety, Casey Bloys, the content manager of HBO and HBO Max, said that House of the Dragon is the only spin-off that is currently being shot. Bloys noted that other series are in different production stages:
“Many might think that 10 dramas are currently in the shooting phase. One will be released in 2022. We’ll see how the other scenarios go.”

Many fight scenes and jousts are seen in the first trailer of the series. A voiceover from Matt Smith’s Prince Daemon Targaryen says, “Gods, kings, fire and blood. Dreams didn’t make us kings, dragons did.”

The first season of the series is expected to have 10 episodes for now.
