What is FreeSync 🖥️

AMD FreeSync was released in 2015. FreeSync is an advanced version of V-SYNC, a previous technology aimed at solving the incompatible square speeds between GPU and monitor. However, while V-SYNC works by limiting the square speed output of the GPU, Freesync works in the opposite way and adjusts the monitor’s renewal speed to match the squares from the GPU. In other words, it provides variable renewal rate. This solves the biggest problem with V-Sync; In other words, it creates an artificial performance limit in GPU and prevents it from reaching full performance potential. FreeSync and GPU are more free to work at the highest point, and the monitor is set to adapt to it.
FreeSync should not be confused with Nvidia G-Sync, a similar but competitor technology that uses a registered module inside the screen. FreeSync managed to compete with G-sync because it was not registered. This means that monitor manufacturers do not need to pay to AMD or install a registered module to use technology. Therefore, FreeSync monitors can usually be found at a more affordable price than G-Sync official monitors.

What does AMD FreeSync do 🤔

All versions of FreeSync are based on the adaptive-sync protocol of the vesa. Therefore, it operates through DisplayPort (USB-C) and HDMI ports. In order for a monitor to be FreeSync certified, the ADAPtive-Sync support range must go through the test process of the AMD, which looks at the support range, brightness, color range and more.
The best game monitors usually come with a variety of FreeSync or G-Sync. Some general usage and professional monitors also use one of these adaptive-sync species.
How to turn off & opened in AMD FreeSync ⚙️

- Right -click on the desktop
- Select AMD Radeon Settings
- Go to Display (Screen) tab
- AMD FreeSync Open/Out
- Click the Gaming (Game) tab
- Select the game you want to close/turn off/open freesync
- AMD FreeSync closed (off) or open (ten)
