As expected, Samsung also introduced its new smartwatches at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic come with a thinner design, brighter display and improved health tracking, as well as a new processor. Samsung Exynos W930 features were shared in detail after the launch.

Samsung Exynos W930 features

Samsung shared little information about the processor of its new smartwatches during the Galaxy Unpacked event. The Exynos W930 can be described as the overclocked Exynos W920 with more memory. Exynos W930, which goes through the 5nm manufacturing process, has a dual-core Cortex-A55 CPU running at 1.4 GHz. There is an 18% performance increase compared to the Exynos W920. The processor includes ARM Mali-G68 MP2 GPU, which supports maximum QHD resolution, 21 FPS video playback.

Samsung says they managed to embed the chip in the smartwatch by combining the CPU, GPU, 2GB LPDDR4 RAM, 16GB eMMC storage and power management integrated chip in a single package. FO-PLP (Fan-Out Panel Level Packaging) and SiP-ePoP (System-in-Package-embedded Package on Package) packaging solutions are used. These technologies are not new; It was also available on the Exynos W920. Therefore, it would not be wrong to say that the Exynos W930 is only the Exynos W920 with more RAM and a slightly higher clock speed.

The processor supports integrated GNSS, 4G LTE modem, dual-band Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC connections. Separate dual-core Cortex-A55 chip is available for low-power tasks such as running the watch in always-on display mode.

Samsung is expected to use this processor in the Galaxy Watch 7 and even in its new watches that will be released later.
