Every month, NASA shares with us the events that will take place in the sky and can be seen from the ground. The space agency made a post about what to watch out for in the sky in September. According to the sharing, many special events are waiting for us in September.
NASA shared the must-see events in September
Let’s start with Mars first. While the red planet is floating in space with all its beauty, it will form a triangle with two red giant stars Aldebaran and Betelgeuse this month. It will certainly be impressive to see these celestial bodies, all three with shades of red.
September also provides an excellent opportunity to observe Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system. Before sunrise on September 11, we will see Jupiter very close to the Moon. You can easily track Jupiter with the naked eye, but if you have binoculars or a telescope, you can also see Jupiter’s four large moons moving very close.
NASA also saw the Jupiter-orbiting Juno spacecraft pass by one of these icy moons, Europa, on September 29. Sending the spacecraft back to Earth will be just 320 kilometers from Europa’s surface while collecting various data.
When it comes to September 9, we will see Saturn and Jupiter accompanying the Moon. We’ll be able to watch the trio soar in the southeast for the first few hours after dark and soar westward together throughout the night. It will be possible to watch this trio in different locations throughout September.
Finally, NASA’s return to the Moon program will also begin in September. The Artemis I mission, which uses NASA’s most powerful rocket ever built, begins Saturday. After this mission, which will be without a crew, it is planned to return to the Moon in 2030.
The impressive events that will take place in the sky in September are listed in this way. You can find various applications to examine the sky in more detail. So, which event are you most looking forward to? You can share your answers with us in the comments section.
