A series of transactions reported by whale watching bots show that major investors are selling massive amounts of Ripple (XRP), with these 8 altcoins accumulating rapidly.
Crypto whales move 630 million Ripple (XRP) at risk of falling
XRP price saw a significant increase in whale trading over the weekend. Whales transferred 630 million XRP in less than three hours amid a correction that threatened to bring the price down to as low as $0.36.
Whale Alert reports that large whale transactions were split into six separate transactions in less than 3 hours. The first whale transaction was the largest, involving the movement of 253 million XRP ($92.7 million) between two anonymous wallets on Sunday.
A minute after the first transaction, the receiving wallet immediately transferred 232 million XRP ($87.4 million) from the funds received to another anonymous wallet, marking the second whale transaction.
Three of the remaining transactions were handled by an anonymous wallet while trying to dump funds into Bitstamp. All three transactions saw 140 million XRP moved to Bitstamp within 12 minutes. The first one carried 35 million XRP ($13.2 million), the second 45 million XRP ($17.1 million) and the third 30 million XRP ($11.3 million).
However, the last whale transaction indexed over the weekend involved an in-house transfer between two Bitso wallet addresses. Funds worth 33 million XRP ($12.5 million) were moved on Sunday.
Ripple-selling whales collect these altcoins
WhaleStats reports that Ethereum whales are buying Blur (BLUR) heavily, while whales carry million-dollar XRPs. According to the data, Blur (BLUR) was among the top 10 most purchased tokens among the top 100 ETH whales. According to WhaleStats’ tweet, other altcoins that ETH whales bought amid massive XRP sales are as follows:
- Gods Unchained (GODS)
- Bone ShibaSwap (BONE)
- Uniswap (UNI)
- Decentraland (MANA)
- Synapse (SYN)
Polygon (MATIC)
Meanwhile, Polygon (MATIC) is seeing slack among ETH whales ahead of its upcoming zkEVM launch. The Polygon network plans to launch the Zero Knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine Beta by March.
Ahead of the launch, current reports have revealed that Polygon (MATIC) has joined the top 5,000 ETH whales among the most purchased tokens during the upcoming launch. Data provided by WhaleStats shows that whales currently have 204.7 million MATICs.
Shiba Inu (SHIB)
Additionally, it strengthens its leadership position among whales in the Shiba Inu (SHIB), accompanied by the launch of the upcoming Shibarium beta. WhaleStats reported in a new tweet that the 193rd largest Etehreum whale “BlueWhale0068” has purchased 92 billion SHIB. The giant investor bought SHIB for approximately $1.1 million in this transaction.
