Manufacturers continue to develop different technologies for the HDD sector, which continues to bleed against SSD. One of the ways to increase efficiency and speed is dual reader heads.

What does the WD Ultrastar DC HS760 offer?

Dual actuator technology, developed over the last few years, replaces the traditional single reader head with a dual reader head. Thanks to the new system that processes data in parallel, data transfer can be achieved 1.7 times faster.

While using the traditional recording method in the drive, 7200RPM rotation speed can be reached. While the time between failures is 2.5 million hours, the plate capacity is determined as 2.2TB. The drive comes with a 5-year warranty.

The drive, which will be sold with a capacity of 20TB, also offers OptiNAND using an integrated NAND memory buffer, HelioSeal sealing with helium gas, and ePMR technologies that increase the surface density on the plates. The WD Ultrastar DC HS760 model will be available for corporate customers in the near future.
