The Ministry of National Education, which signaled that they would start metaverse studies in education recently, announced that they were making preparations in this regard. Buğra Ayan, President of Web3 Technologies Association, evaluated the place of metaverse technologies in education.

“Metaverse, An Opportunity for Students”

The Ministry of National Education is preparing to switch to virtual reality applications in education. Saying that it is an opportunity to strengthen the education of students with metaverse, Web3 Technologies Association President Buğra Ayan explained the situations that can be experienced in education with metaverse technology;

“There may be significant changes in enriching the educational content. For example, in the EBA system, the points students get as they solve questions can turn into various gifts consisting of NFT (digital works of art) in the metaverse universe. In this process, where gamification will be very strong, students may want to spend much more time on the education portal in order to increase their digital assets. The content production of similar teachers can increase and enrich.”

“Virtual Reality and Metaverse Different Technologies”

Emphasizing that the things to see under the name Metaverse are basically virtual reality, Ayan continued his words as follows;

“Students will have the opportunity to access different environments with virtual reality. In other words, scenarios such as traveling in time in history class, observing a different place in geography class. But this is actually virtual reality, not metaverse. The main difference between the two is that the student owns the digital asset. If the student takes ownership of his digital asset, he will be able to be a part of these processes with a stronger motivation.”
