A group of web3 companies launched the Universal Privacy Alliance (UPA) at a side event during the Devcon conference.
The privacy advantage brought by decentralization is tried to be preserved. Following the US sanctions on crypto mixer Tornado Cash, an alliance focused on raising awareness of the need for data privacy and a legal defense fund has been established to support its mission.
Web3 Companies Announce Privacy Alliance at Devcon Conference
A group of web3 companies launched the Universal Privacy Alliance at a side event during the Ethereum Foundation’s Devcon conference in Bogota, Colombia. The new organization focuses on education on the internet and web3 data privacy.
The alliance includes p0xeidon labs, Manta Network, Nym Technologies, SCRT Labs’ Secret Network, Orchid, Railgun, Status and the Oasis Foundation’s Oasis Network.
The alliance also announced the UPA Legal Defense Fund, which it says will support the main goal of defending the right to test, build and use full-stack privacy technologies.
Regarding the Universal Privacy Alliance (UPA), the group said in a statement:
