The Mobile Repair and Recovery Vehicle version of the 8×8 armored combat vehicle ARMA II, developed by Otokar, was exhibited for the first time at IDEF’23. Otokar Multi-Wheel Military Armored Vehicles Specialist Fahrettin Durduran explained the new variant of Arma II 8×8 to Cem Sünbül.
The Arma II 8×8 Mobile Repair and Recovery Vehicle variant will be used for salvaging vehicles and clearing the battlefield. It can quickly perform all kinds of maintenance, repair and towing rescue activities, ground leveling and removal of obstacles.
The vehicle, which has a 720 horsepower engine, has the same level of protection as Otokar’s existing 8×8 vehicles. With dozer blade mounted on the front of the vehicle; It can perform operations such as position preparation, pit and trench closing. Thanks to its long and high-capacity boom crane, it can even lift heavy parts of armored vehicles and transfer them to logistics vehicles. It has equipment to tow 8×8 vehicles, including vehicles with damaged first axle, on a carrier trailer. The high-capacity and long-rope main rescue winch can pull damaged vehicles in the field from a long distance to the safe zone.
Powered by Domestic Engine
The vehicle uses a 12.7 liter Ecotorq engine with 720 horsepower, developed with domestic resources. Alternatively, a foreign engine option with the same power is also offered. Power group components and cooling systems, except the transmission, were designed and produced domestically by Otokar.
