NVIDIA comes up with new graphics cards and graphics processors almost every year. The company was expected to come up with RTX 40XX series graphics cards later this year. In the past, after the introduction of new motherboards and processors, the company was before us with graphics cards that would make the most of these technologies.
This year, the allegations that NVIDIA’s new cards will be released a little later began to circulate in the backstage. When the news went to TSMC, which produces new graphics cards classified as Lovelace, to stop production, the rumor mill started to boil.
We may only see the RTX 4090 this year
According to new claims, NVIDIA will only sell the RTX 4090 this year. It will be necessary to wait for the beginning of the next year for the release of lower models. So this year we’ll only see one new graphics card, and it’s likely to be a pretty expensive model.
The reason for this delay is the huge RTX 30XX series graphics card stock in the companies that NVIDIA works with. In addition to the low demand for graphics cards due to economic conditions, the drop in cryptos mined by various methods such as Bitcoin, along with the introduction of a large number of new cards to the second-hand market, caused stocks to remain.
On the other hand, how much this move will produce the results that NVIDA wants is another important point. Because the company, which is trying to keep good relations with its commercial partners, can suddenly offer an empty market for AMD’s new generation RDNA 3 graphics cards. In particular, mid-range RDNA 3 graphics cards, which appeal to a wider range, are much more preferable than a niche flagship such as the RTX 4090. In this case, NVIDIA may delay the release of the cards a little to at least balance the situation, but may not leave it to next year.
