Owning a new vehicle has already become extremely difficult with inflation and the increase in foreign exchange rates. However, overcoming this difficulty, those who own a vehicle faced high vehicle expenses this time. Costs such as vehicle insurance and automobile insurance have increased tremendously this year.
The latest data shared by Arabam.com, the used vehicle advertisement platform, clearly showed the negative impact of this increase on vehicle owners. The vast majority of vehicle owners reported that they no longer think of insurance. In fact, more than two-thirds of the participants stated that they were not even aware of the automobile insurance prices.
More than half of the vehicle owners said that they will not have insurance:
In the survey, which was conducted with the participation of 907 people this month, 52.5% of the participants stated that they would not have their vehicles insured.
The biggest obstacle in front of the insurance is the prices:
65.4% of the participants, who did not think about having motor insurance, attributed this thought to the increased motor insurance costs. 18.4% stated that they thought the traffic insurance was sufficient, and 16.2% stated that they would not have automobile insurance because they trusted themselves in traffic.
There is a similar table in traffic insurance:
While 78.6% of the participants announced that they would have traffic insurance for their vehicles, 21.4% of the participants, who said they would not, shared the reasons for this as follows:
- As traffic insurance costs increase: 44.8%
- Because my vehicle is old: 41.4%
- Because it benefits the other party, not me: 13.8%
The preference of those who have made insurance is in favor of full insurance:
46.1% of the participants, who stated that they would have insurance for their vehicles, shared that they preferred full insurance. 30.6% of them stated that they were in favor of general insurance, 17.1% of them were in favor of extended insurance and 6.2% of them were in favor of narrow insurance.
As soon as New Year’s Eve, the picture was different:
In the same research conducted by Arabam.com in January, it was revealed that 60.9% of the participants would have automobile insurance for their vehicles. The conditions reached in just 11 months have changed the minds of the majority of vehicle owners.
