Apple, which introduced its new products to us last week, also recently released the watchOS 9 operating systems for Apple Watches. However, information from users revealed that there were some problems with the new version of the operating system.
The problem occurred on the popular music platform Spotify. Accordingly, a bug in watchOS 9 prevented users from listening to content on Spotify via Apple Watch. After the events, the giant music service sent an e-mail to Apple users on the subject.
Spotify asks users not to update to watchOS 9
In complaints from users, it was stated that the platform on the Apple Watch stopped working within the first minute. For this reason, many users who switched to watchOS 9 could not listen to anything from Spotify. The problem is experienced in both Wi-Fi and cellular data connection; However, it was also among the information that it was not seen in the content downloaded from the platform. In addition, it was reported that Spotify’s iPhone application did not encounter such a problem.
Spotify sent a related email to Apple Watch users. The email, obtained by MacRumors, reads: “WatchOS 9′ caused an error that made Spotify streaming on Apple Watch stop. We urge those who use Spotify on Apple Watch not to update to watchOS 9 until Apple issues a fix. Those who already have the update and those affected by the issue can download the content to their Apple Watch and listen offline.”
Let’s talk briefly about using Spotify on Apple Watch. When using iPhone, Spotify app on Apple Watch shows content playing on phone, just like Apple Music. In order to use Spotify directly from the Apple Watch, the user must use the application directly on the device and have a headset connected to the smart watch.
Apple sent the first beta version of WatchOS 9.1 to developers last Wednesday. Some unconfirmed reports stated that this version fixed the Spotify problem. However, Apple has not made any official statement about whether the bug will be fixed with this version. If Apple does not release a small update to fix the bug, as it did with iOS 16, users may have to wait for version 9.1.
