With the new generation graphics cards, energy consumption is also getting ready to reach its peak. To meet this high energy consumption, Gen 5 (12VHPWR) connections and ATX 3.0 compatible PSU standards were determined. The PCI-SIG group asks you not to break this compliance.
Warning to PSU owners
Many PSU manufacturers have started to gift Gen 5 (12VHPWR) connection cables in the box, although the product is ATX 2.0 compatible. Unfortunately, a robust solution is required for energy consumption reaching 600W.
GeForce RTX 4090 takes the stage
The PCI-SIG platform states that ATX 3.0 compatible PSU and Gen 5 (12VHPWR) connections must be used. Otherwise, it poses a safety risk under certain conditions, as other solutions support lower energy transfer.
The platform is already closely following the PSU solutions offered to consumers in the market. When faced with different systems in this regard, updates will be passed in terms of enlightening the consumer.
