Despite all the measures taken in the Google Play store, the malware threat does not end. In the past weeks, we talked about the removal of applications based on the Joker malware. Again, there is a similar situation.
Beware of Autolycos software
Security experts warn against apps based on Autolycos malware in the Google Play store. Autolycos malware also carries risks such as sending paid SMS like Joker or subscribing to unauthorized paid services.
8 apps based on this software have been identified, but since it took 6 months for them to be removed from the store, they received more than 3 million downloads. The worst part is that these harmful applications are constantly advertised on platforms such as Facebook. It is unknown how many users are currently affected by this software, but the following applications should be removed immediately:
- Vlog Star Video Editor – 1 million+
- Creative 3D Launcher – 1 million+
- Funny Camera – 500,000+
- Wow Beauty Camera – 100,000+
- Gif Emoji Keyboard – 100,000+
- Razer Keyboard & Theme – 50,000+
- Freeglow Camera 1.0.0 – 5,000+
- Coco camera v1.1 – 1,000+
