Based on an affordable iPad model, this new controller will offer a completely different user experience. It is stated that the iPad, which will be integrated into a special stand, will also host basic functions such as FaceTime calls and video watching.
It is inevitable for companies producing smart speakers to switch to versions with screens after a while. Xiaomi, Amazon, Facebook have recently launched smart speakers with screens. Apple probably wants to offer such a transition to its ecosystem, too.
