Microsoft has begun testing a new feature in the Edge browser that will improve online security and privacy. The software giant has integrated a Cloudflare-based VPN service into its internet browser. Some details about the feature called Microsoft Edge Secure Network have become clear.

The built-in VPN functionality deeply integrated into the Edge browser has made itself felt in the latest development build. The Microsoft Edge Secure Network feature encrypts your data while browsing the web, making it inaccessible to third parties, including your internet service provider.
Free but limited
Built-in VPN in Microsoft Edge, all traffic will be forwarded through an encrypted tunnel even if HTTP protocol is used. You will also be able to mask your geolocation to access blocked sites. Microsoft Edge Secure Network feature will be offered to users for free, but there will be a monthly traffic limit of 1 GB.
The service in question was created in partnership with Cloudflare. Cloudflare company does not store users’ personal data. It should be noted that all information about browsing sessions is deleted after 25 hours. There is no word yet on when the new feature will become generally available.
