Volkswagen introduced its new electric vehicle fleet last March and presented the ID Buzz, which looks like an “Electric meatball van”. On top of that, the company has created an event in the past months, arguing that the autonomous driving feature should be by subscription.

The German automotive giant recently introduced the first off-road EV SUV model that it quietly produced. Let’s take a closer look at this environmentally friendly off-road car that pierces mountains with electric power.

It has a range of 200 km

Volkswagen ID, which is produced as a 4×4 and is Volkswagen’s first electric off-road SUV. The XTREME1 is powered by a two magnet electric motor. This engine, which gives 220 kW of power to the front wheels and 285 kW to the rear wheels, gets its power from a 100 kW battery. The battery with fast charging support currently offers a range of 200 km on a single charge, but the Volkswagen team stated in their statement that there may be changes in the battery and range until the vehicle’s release date, and the vehicle can reach a range of up to 500 km.

This car, which looks like the muscular brother of the Volkswagen ID 4 GTX, is actually a special model of the ID 4 GTX developed for tough road conditions. When we look at the exterior of the vehicle, we come across with the front bumper bar, which is indispensable for off-road vehicles, extra LED lighting on the ceiling, 18” wheels and reinforced under-vehicle armor.

Authorities announced that the vehicle will take its place in dealers at the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024, but they kept their silence about the exact or probable price of the vehicle.
