Frankfurt Motor Show, one of the most prestigious automotive fairs in the world, started like a bomb. The world’s largest automobile manufacturers have started to introduce the cars they have equipped with brand new technologies. In this context; German automobile giant Volkswagen was one of the brands that took the stage within the scope of the event. Introducing the concept car “ID. GTI”, the company seems to enchant Golf enthusiasts the most.
Volkswagen’s GTI adventure began nearly 50 years ago. Aware of this, the company made a design study in the new concept car, where it did not move away from the GTI spirit. Built on ID.2all, the car will impress hatchback fans with both new generation technologies and looks. Let’s take a closer look at this car together.
Here comes the Volkswagen ID.GTI
The Volkswagen ID.GTI concept features the LED strip lighting technology that Volkswagen has preferred in recent years. The front grille of the vehicle reminds of the sportiness that comes from the spirit of the GTI. On the other hand, GTI phrases added to almost every part of the vehicle appear as another design detail that reminds us of 50 years of history. The red and black color combination was also preferred as a habit from the GTI.
When we look at the rear of the car, we encounter a style with high modification. The rear lights also include the light bar that Volkswagen prefers in its new generation models. The illuminated logo and spoiler suit the Volkswagen ID.GTI concept.
Volkswagen ID.GTI has an interesting cabin. In the cabin, where there is a pair of digital screens, which we also saw on ID.2all, consumers are offered some customization options. Let’s say you want to experience the retro design of the GTI. You can find the Mk2 GTI’s display screen with your selection on the infotainment screen. Of course, we are talking about digital display, not analog. And let’s talk about a feature beyond all this. Image projection can be made on the windshield in Volkswagen ID.GTI. Augmented reality powered glass will offer an interesting experience, especially on the racetrack.
Volkswagen did not make detailed statements about the engine features of the electric concept car. However, it was stated that the vehicle will have a single electric motor that offers high performance. On the other hand; To keep the GTI spirit, this car’s gear shifts, sound, suspension and steering precision will also be special. A technology to be used in the vehicle will allow even the shift points to be customized.
Volkswagen has announced that the ID.GTI will go into mass production. However, it should be noted that this will not happen in the short term. As such, no explanation was made about the price of the vehicle.
