Automobile giants such as Volkswagen continue to fight each other fiercely for their new generation autonomous technologies. This struggle VW group is preparing to join forces with another company to strengthen its hand in the Chinese market.
According to the information announced, the German manufacturer is preparing to make an agreement with Huawei, which has made a big impact in the electric car market by introducing its electric car called Aito M5 in the past months.
Volkswagen does not share many details for now
The details of this agreement, which will unite the German and Chinese manufacturer, are not yet finalized. However, according to the information in Manager Magazine, one of Germany’s well-established newspapers, the company is about to bring a deal worth billions of euros to Huawei.
This agreement, of course, will include Huawei’s autonomous driving technologies, as you can imagine. Emphasizing that it wants to be the Bosch of China rather than a car manufacturer in the past months, it is not yet known whether the company will accept this agreement. The Chinese company currently prefers to leave questions on the subject unanswered.
This move is certainly not the first step taken by Volskwagen to expand and develop its electric vehicle range. The company, which has gained a solid place in the electric vehicle market with its ID series, previously established a partnership with Argo AI for the European market.
At this point, it should be noted that Volkswagen wants to strengthen its position in the Chinese market. Because the company gained a significant share in the Chinese automobile market in 2020, and while its hand has become so strong, it is no wonder that it is looking for a technology partner for itself.
