Volkswagen will invest $ 20 million in its dealers!

Volkswagen recently launched its national network preparation program in the United States. As part of the program, the company took its first big step and announced that it will invest $20 million to transform its more than 600 dealerships in the United States into regional electric car experience centers. With the investment, dealers will become eligible for electric cars.

To turn dealers into electric car experience centers, Volkswagen will invest in establishing EV infrastructure at dealers in 50 states. Accordingly, service centers in dealers will be upgraded and high-capacity chargers will be installed. This program will last until June 2022 and 23,490 kW charging capacity will be added to Volkswagen dealers.

In addition, more than 1,260 electric car service technicians will be trained under this program. Scott Keogh, CEO of Volkswagen America, said in his statement:

“Users will lead America’s electric car revolution. Our dealers are our partners, leading their communities to electric cars and providing unmatched service. Currently every 10 Volkswagen ID. 9 out of 4 buyers are first-time buyers of electric cars. I have never been more confident that the electric car future is driven by Volkswagen. ”

Volkswagen has also launched a technician recruitment program for electric cars. In line with this program, new technicians will be recruited from dealers and training will be given to them. The company will also provide $2,000 each year to support hired technicians to obtain individual certification. Thanks to these, the technicians will become experts in electric cars.
