Vivo introduced its flagship series X100 and X100 Pro models in recent weeks. The new series powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9300; It will compete with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 devices such as Xiaomi 14. Finally, a stress test was conducted for the X100 Pro, here are the results.
Did Vivo X100 Pro survive the stress test?
The first performance tests conducted for the X100 Pro revealed how MediaTek Dimensity 9300 performs under heavy load. The chipset, which contains eight Cortex-X4 cores, four of which are high-performance, was able to withstand the stress test for 2 minutes.
X100 Pro was tested by Anthropic, which pushed all cores to the maximum level. Accordingly, it slowed down to half of its peak performance within 2 minutes. In testing, core frequencies dropped from 0.6 GHz to as low as 1.2 GHz.
By comparison, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 could last more than 10 minutes in the same test and maintain around 80 percent of peak core speeds. This is due to the fact that the Dimensity 9300 does not have efficiency cores.
On the other hand, a cooling solution called vapor chamber is used in the X100 Pro. Although it prevents the chipset from heating up, it should not be forgotten that this solution puts more strain on the cores. We know that processors with standard fans and efficiency cores last longer than 2 minutes.
