In the past weeks, Apple introduced the Vision Pro, mixed reality glasses, and entered a brand new product category. Yesterday, the beta version of visionOS, the operating system of the device that will be released in 2024, and the SDK (software development kit) that will enable developers to develop applications were published.
After that, the first images of how the operating system will look and some features appeared. Today, some content producers have released videos of the operating system simulated on the computer. The videos give us ideas on how visionOS will look.
visionOS will sort of look like this
For example, a video shared by MacRumors shows what the home screen of the operating system will look like. However, it is worth mentioning again that the images belong to the simulation on the computer, that is, they will not look exactly like this in the Vision Pro title. MacRumors notes that the beta version does not fully reflect the title experience; but it says it’s representative enough.
In the video, we can also take a look at how the control center and applications will look. The home screen can be personalized just like in iOS, and apps can be collected in files. From the control center, “light, dark or automatic” modes can be seen. We can also take a look at the appearance of the “Guest Mode”, where you can give the Vision Pro to someone else for a certain period of time.
In addition, how to use the applications from the title is also included in the video. For example, when you open a video on YouTube, a huge screen appears in front of you. Of course, watching a video will actually be a much better experience than in this video. In addition, Travel Mode, which you can use while not moving, improves the experience by blocking the distractions around you.
What about apps and keyboard?
In another review video shared by AppleInsider, we can look at the user interface of visionOS. How Safari and Maps will work, keyboard view, FaceTime and environments are briefly shown in the video.
In another video shared by Apple Track, the operating system is examined in detail. Saying that it feels strange to see flying applications, Apple Track also shows the view of applications from different angles by navigating the interface. It also shows different environments, settings and many applications in detail. Although the cursor is controlled with the mouse in these videos, let’s add that the system will be managed with eyes and hands when the title is used.
Here are some of the videos from visionOS. Most of the reviewers of the version state that, as you can imagine, it is too early to say anything for now. It is not possible to make a definite comment without actually putting the title on and seeing the final version of the operating system. However, we can see from the videos that there may be an operating system that users may like after getting used to it.
