The founder and CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, has been expressing his interest in the cryptocurrency industry for a long time. Dorsey openly states that Twitter will have a place in the crypto money industry lately and says that the projects are continuing. One of the areas that will allow the social media giant to enter this sector will be NFT.
NFTs, where a digital asset is turned into a collectible and can only be owned by one person, will also come to Twitter. Although there is no clear information about the feature yet, today we saw live how NFTs can gain a place on Twitter. Software engineer Mada Aflak showed a feature that is still in the testing phase in her post on her Twitter account.
The NFT feature might look like this:
In the video released by Mada Aflak, we see that we can replace your Twitter profile photo with an NFT you own. In the section where we select the profile photo on Twitter, the ‘Select NFT’ option appears. After choosing this option, we connect a wallet to our Twitter account and choose one of the NFTs we have as the profile photo.
However, a new tab comes to our profile as we connect our cryptocurrency wallet to the account. In this tab named ‘Collection’, all NFTs owned are displayed in a way that other Twitter users can see. Other than that, there is no information in the video.
The feature shown in the video shared by Mada Aflak is just an experiment, as she stated. Therefore, it is not known whether this feature will come to Twitter for sure. But in the coming period, we seem to hear new news about Twitter’s involvement in the crypto money industry.
